Asia: Empowering the Singapore workforce for Industry 4.0
Updated: Dec 30, 2019
Asia is recognised as the manufacturing hub of the world and is a strong driving force for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market, which some are calling the Industry 4.0 revolution, according to an article from The Straits Times.
In particular, Southeast Asia has the potential to leapfrog ahead of other developing nations as the region is forecast to grow at least five per cent annually until 2020, exceeding the global growth of 3.5 per cent.
This can be attributed to strong support from the region’s governments to ramp up sustainable manufacturing capabilities in each of the markets, mass digitisation across sectors, increased interconnectivity between numerous technologies and the rise of sustainability movement globally.
